One tube and support stock with aluminum covering.

Note that plastic spacers between 1.5x1.5 slats are nicely hard to desern.

Slats were cut a bit sloppily for the prototype. They were also polished, which may be counter-indicated. Sanding a bit (for the frosted look) will probably conduct light more nicely for indicating actual height of the illumination.

Also visible is the 1/8-inch threaded stock bare (below the bottom sheet of housing, and how it looks with polished 3/16-inch tubing above that.
